  • Had a great time meeting everyone in person....It took 4 hours for the S2000 to swim the 200 miles (321,868.80 meters for you Olympic followers) back to NJ.

Hope the others had clear sailing home.

    • I had an awesome time, once again.
Funny how I don't have the S anymore and still continually come back for this - if you HAVEN'T come to this, you NEED to go next year.

As for the ride home, I skipped the Hollywood Casino in Harrisburg, but got suckered into the Sands Casino on 78, about an hour from home.

Can't wait for next time, ans yes as I type this I am looking for another S ..............

        • If you ever want to get somewhere in a hurry, just let my darling wife lead...home, no rain, full of great BBQ and ready for another week to start.

When we were going form 81 to 78, there was some amazing lightening in the distance. After we got out of the casino, it was raining the entire rest of the way home... good times :/

            • i went home via part of the meet drive route over Catoctin Mountain - followed a pickup going 25MPH in the pouring rain...

Thanks again to everyone that made it out! I hope that you had a great weekend and I'm already looking forward to the event again next year.

              • Thanks to Justin and Ken and Denny and Sharon for all their efforts. This was a great event that Mel and I thoroughly enjoyed. More wonderful memories of time with friends, old and new.

                • Didn't take a lot of pics (humidity was so high on Saturday it was nearly impossible to un-fog the optics), but here's some of the LARGE group that followed Sharon and Denny through the battlefield Sunday morning. I learn something new and relevant every time I get to be with them, and it is simply amazing how 'personal' and 'real' Gettysburg becomes listening to them.

Kudos to Ken, Justin, Denny, Sharon (and the unsung but essential Yoon-Hee) for making this such a nice weekend. Even the weather co-operated. It appears that there will be a GGTG IV in August 2013 (the 150th Anniversary activities commemorating those three terrible days in our history will be completed by then and the town should be back to 'normal') and many are already planning to be there again. Great gathering... great drive... great food... great fun...... and, a chance to visit 'sacred' ground.
