MY'03....Silverstone / Red Loaded with "Whistles, Bells & Toys"....
Life's journey is not to arrive @ the grave safely, in a well preserved body, but rather to "skid" in sideways, totally worn out, shouting"...holy sh*t...what a ride!"
Looking forward to this S2KDays. Get to see friends and before or after will hang out with friends in AR.
I might even make a side trip to LRAFB and see a famous C130 on display at the front gate
I'd be interested in seeing it, as well. We have C-17 and C-5 here at my installation.
This C-130A Hercules flew the last mission out of Vietnam before the fall of Saigon. It landed with 452 people on board, 32 in the cockpit
I know the co-pilot of that flight. Tom said that there were other C130 on the base, but only this one would fly. He said they got lost over water and one of the people in the cockpit was a fisherman that recognized some island and that's how they found freedom. LRAFB is now home to the 314th TAW.
