  • The Gettysburg Get Together XI. The plague is past, no-cost version!

It's time for the eleventh Gettysburg Get Together. Once again, on September 24-26th the North and the South will get together to visit this site of the largest battle of rthe Civil War. Come along and explore the battlefield with two of the most knowledgeable people I know and learn more about the people, the armies, the plotting and the horrible tragedy. Tickets are free and will be available starting July 15. You will be able to register by clicking the following link.

In 1912, a law passed in Nebraska where drivers in the country at night were required to stop every 150 yards, send up a skyrocket, and wait eight minutes for the road to clear before proceeding cautiously, all the while blowing their horn and shooting off flares.

Yeah... doing events in two successive weeks would put too much of a dent in my Leave balance for my Mexico trip in November.

If it has tires or testicles, it is going to give you trouble.

Missed you and Sharon and the temps actually weren't bad. A bit of rain was the only bad weather we had.

The rain all fell during the night, at the resort. We never drove in any rain, either during the event or by going north from Bellaire on our way home.
