  • WWT '07 Favorite Wines

    I thought I would start this for those who attended and wanted to order more wine now that you are home. This is also for those of you who didn't attend and want to see where we went, what we liked and want to order something based on what your fellow club members recommend.

    I will list them in the order we visited;

    Mandolina Tasting Room This is accessed from the Lucas & Lewellen website.

    Cambria Wines

    Tolosa Winery

    Clairborne & Churchill We all didn't taste at this location

    Melville Vineyards & Winery

    Koehler Winery The most entertaining tasting of the trip and our lunch location.

    Rideau Vineyards

    And last but not least our lunch provider El Rancho Market. I recommend that if you are spending a day in this area to order lunch and pick it up as you pass through town. We had rave reviews on the box lunches.

    Those of you who attended post your favorites.

    Let me start with my favorites and I didn't taste at all the stops.

    Mandolina Tasting Room; 2003 Toccata Reserva

    Lucas & Lewellen; 2004 Goodchild Chardonnay. This was one of our banquet wines and a 3 gold medal winner.

    Melville Vineyards; 2005 Estate Pinot Noir Santa Rita Hills

    Saucelito Canyon Winery; 2005 Zinfandel and 2004 Zinfandel Reserva (this one is gooood!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

    Rideau Vineyards; Everything is good and you can tell by the prices. Most of these wines are multiple award winners. For true wine lovers

    These are my choices of the best from this trip.
