Here’s the process for Gingerman according to the track manager.

There is no prior registration for this Open Track Day. Applicants simply show and fill out what is called a “Test and Tune” form that has data fields that management will translate into “experience” and “equipment” information.

Based on their analysis and the size of the “field” of cars/applicants, they will assign each applicant to a “run group.” The number of “run groups” will be determined prior to the commencement of track activity. By way of example, if 40 cars show and 10 are advanced, 25 are intermediate and 5 are novice, the groups will be A , B% and C=5. Five (5) of the A group will be asked to show one of the C group the proper line around the track by taking a C driver as a passenger or riding with the C driver during the C “session.” If the group A person deems it appropriate, they should offer pointers on track protocol as well.

Payment and registration will be located at Heidi’s Café located between the Classroom Building and the Fuel/Air Station and Toilet/Shower Station.

The current forecast for the day shows fairly warm weather. Accordingly, I suggest that you may want to bring a good supply of drinking water or electrolyte liquid to keep yourself sufficiently hydrated for the day’s activity.

I’ll be in the red, Honda S2000 with a King Motorsports banner on the windshield as usual. Stop by to say Hi if you can make it.

Hope you all had a good time... I might be back on Monday the 30th, instructing with the CGI Motorsports track school.

          Hopefully we'll see more S2KCA / S2K owners there.

Had a great day - only about 15 cars showed up!!

I was running 1:36's by the end of the day with no passenger, so I was happy. I know I have some time left out there too. Now I just have to get back there soon!

I noticed a bunch of people who were at the May 25th day are in this thread as well. Has anyone recieved their pictures from that event yet? None of the people I was there with have seen them yet. I called the number on the order slip and it is a fax machine. If anyone has a functional phone number I would appreciate it.

              Thanks,
              Alex

Hey Alex, I haven't recieved my order yet from Sideline Photo either. I emailed them about a week ago, but no response. I called them today, but of couse it was just an answering machine. The phone number I called was 847-837-2374. I have Mike Stahlschmidt's business card and his mobile number is 847-456-6514 if you want to try that. I haven't tried it yet.

He didn't really seem like a fly by night kind of guy, so I figured I'd give him a few weeks. But damn, 5 weeks should be plenty of time!

                  Andy,

My thoughts about it paralleled yours. I called several weeks ago to ensure that all was going well even though I do not have an order but wanted to see if anyone that did was getting serviced properly. Mike assured me that they would be right on top of it.

I'll call again to follow up. I'll post here to let you know what come of it.

Believe it or not, I finally got the photo CD of my car in the mail today! I can't really say it was worth the wait, since there are only 11 photos of my car which all seem to be taken at the same spot on the track. I guess my car isn't that exciting.

Check out my gallery for some samples.

                        Andy,

                        Those are some slick shots.

I've got to have rocks in my head for not thinking of this earlier. We should make a pact at the next track session. You teach me how to use your camera and I'll teach you to use mine. Then we each take a tour of the track back roads and get different shots of each other's car on the track. If we get each corner and each straight section it's only 15-16 shots.

                        Duh?

Let's team up at the next track day that we attend together.

Well, I did get an email saying they would be sent within 24 hours. That was July 1. Nothing so far. Oh, and the offer included a couple extras... that's probably the hold-up!

Andy, those shots look better than the one I bought but hey, Harry didn't offer to take my picture that day so I went with the next best.

Why do I feel like I just got corn-holed?

What e-mail address did you use to get to them? I've sent a couple and have had no response.

                                  Thanks for the input guys!

Harry, next time I see you we can try the camera swap. My camera can't take pictures anywhere near the quality of the picture above, but we can give it a try anyway.

Harry, how that SC blower working on your S2K is the car more drivable on the street and how does it perform on the track?

It's great when the car in running. Mid-range torque is up and the upper-end is increcible. It just pulls all the way to 9K.

On the track it is so great in the straights and coming out of the corner. If you make a proper gear selection going into the corner and manage to come out in the 5700 plus rpm range, you fly out.

The real problem is the vibration that the damn thing imparts to the engine. It's not exactly a bulldog engine like a diesle.

If I had it to do again, I'd get a turbo, but short of that, definitly do it with intercooling.

Any idea of who's turbo to go with I was looking at the ultimate racing turbo and now I see threads with issue on that turbo.
