Bob:
I just heard that this was well into the planning stages... Please keep me updated on S2Kca... The friendly S2000 site!
Rick
Sorry Rick, that I hadn't seen this earlier. Guess I haven't been spending much time on either board this summer.
Per the other thread, August 21st was selected as the date of the drive. I have the insurance paperwork ready to go. The drive is mostly put together (mentally, any way) and I just need to put it on paper and the web. I am going to try to do a preview run this weekend, so that I can finalize the route.
The run is Aug 21st and I haven't seen any of the Chi-town boys with there hands up saying that they are coming. ( but not all of the Indy guy's have signed up yet ether.)
I want to raise my hand and join in on the fun, however, I have concerns for overnight lodging....
....after I get back home to the wife from the weekend.
Actually, I have finals the following week and should better spend the weekend studying rather than driving. After this, I have one more semester and will be done with the MBA.....then I will be a driving fool!!!
OK me and Bob did a practice run today of the Drive for the 21st and all I can say is ALSOME!!!!!! I thank everyone will be happy with the drive, I know I was loving it. Bob is going to post the new map and time to meet and where to meet I thank tonite. Can't wait to see everyone Sat 21st. And for those who are not coming all I can say is YOUR LOST, becuase this is going to be a fun drive.
We will meet at the Columbus rest area (about mile marker 74) on I-65 south at 10:30AM, Saturday August 21st. The drive will start at 11AM. Bring your Talkabout radios and set them for channel 7, code 1.
Copies of the map will be available at the start. Here is a map of the route.
Everyone is expected to have a valid driver's license and insurance. You will be required to sign a waiver, as well.
I was going to mention that this thread is from last fall, but it seems that you must have discovered that on your own.
(w00t: Just join a last month and this sounds like a cool drive. Can you give me some info like what to bring and expect on the drive. This will be the first time. I've radios but need to know what else can be expected. Not sure of my work schedule but I think I should be off on the 21st.)
Welcome, and stick around, we'll have another drive/get together soon.
