Election time is coming up for the Northwest Regional Director. As I haven't seen any action or nominations yet, I thought I'd start a thread for our region. And begin it with a question;
Hey Carl, are you going to run for Regional Director again?

I get the feeling that Carl is not going to run again. He hasn't been on-site since Dec. 3. That's awfully long for Carl to be gone unanounced. So, going under the assumption that Carl is not going to run again, do we have anyone else in the Northwest Region that want's to step up for the Regional Director's job?

its not that I am unwilling....I would like to offer up the opportunity to my region...
and if I did run, I would like to have more feedback from all members of the region.
to clarify, I am willing to remain on if the members of the region feel it is in their best interest. however if there is anyone who would like to volunteer I will be more than happy to give them an opportunity as well. I have been doing this since January 2008 so roughly a term and a half.

Reason: clarification
I for one would like you to stay Carl. There is no way I could run the PNW Chapter and the PNW Region both. And there aren't that many of us in the PNW that stay active in the club. You've got the experience wth the BOD. You'll have my support, and any assistance I can give you.

We have to elect a anew Regional Director. We've got two active chapters in the region, the PNW Chapter and the SF Bay Area. I would expect that a new director will have to come from one of them. I've put a post about this in the 2010 Elections thread.

While it is nice to have the regional director near the most active chapters, it does not need to be that way. While my chapter in MN and ND is not super active, our regional director is way down in Louisville KY.
Don't let your proximity to a chapter determine if you want to be a regional director. The better question to ask yourself is, "Do I have something I want to contribute to the club?"
Welcome to the world of monthly conference calls (and you get to vote for the weekend to have them. Kinda like trying to decide between a chain saw or a electric carving knife to "end it all" )
