Cindy and I went on a 11 state, 6300 mile drive in our S. We took small back roads when ever we could and some were only one to one and a half lanes wide. We saw some great roads and had a blast driving them. I'm a little tired but I wish we could start a new vacation right now, we just love driving with the top down and seeing all the stuff others miss out on seeing that can't put the top down. We drove to the top of the highest paved road in North America, 14130 ft. If I get to it(lots of roads to mark) I'll post the maps of where we went.
Cindy and I feel so bad because we were in front(of most) or right behind all the bad weather that has hit the west. On one day we had very heavy rain(with lots of lightning) to the left and right of us(less than 1/2 mile to either side) but the road took us right between the two storms and the top never had to go up. We know that some of the roads we took are wiped out and may not be drive-able for up to two years now.
How sad,
ROD
Here are the pic's from day 2-19 of our 11 state drive.
