  • Hill Country / fall colors drive 06

    Hill country drive!!!:

It centers around the beautiful Koyote Ranch: http://www.koyoteranch.com/
We stay overnight at Koyote and then have a killer drive on Saturday, and maybe Sunday?

    Koyote Ranch on Google maps
Take Hwy 16 south out of Kerrville, set your odometer at zero as you cross the Guadalupe River in Kerrville. About 9 miles out of town you will begin your climb to a local landmark known as the Eagle’s Nest. As you begin to come off the hill, Koyote Ranch Hill Country is on the right (west) approximately 14.2 miles from the river bridge in Kerrville.

I made a video of this drive last year: Hill country drive video

I thought it was the prior weekend? (based on calendar posted in N. TX forum on that "other" site). It would be great if it was changed, as I have a conflict 10/28-29 but am all clear for that weekend.

I had a blast last year bumming rides in others' cars (thanks to crappy Vortech electronics, my old S2000 was out of commission at the time), and Koyote Ranch was way cool!

Sondra actually called me tonight to confirm that the date is being changed to avoid Halloween festivities in Austin.

Last year's event sounded like it was a great time. I'll see what I can do to make this event.

F1 season is over 2 weeks before this event, unfortunately. Looks like everyone will get to sleep this year!

The date was confirmed changed yesterday. I'm very, very excited about this; it was going to be a very tough choice to decide between what is MY version of Christmas vs. a relationship milestone (Stanford and I met on this drive last year).

C'mon guys, this was a REALLY good time last year, and I'm sure it will only get better this year. Make plans in INK on your calendar!

I'm hoping the DFW Roadster crew will have had so much fun at S2KDays that they will all want to come back for this. I'm in if I can manage it at work.

Looks so nice at the Koyote Ranch. Ellen and I will try to make this one. What's the lodging cost and do we need to make arrangements ourselves?
