  • Hill Country Drive - January 25-27, 2008

Most people driving on roads are commuters.
And some of them are drivers.

But only a few are Bull Riders.
This is what they wait for all year long:

The Raging Bull Texas Stampede V

    Adrenaline pumping. Constant focus.
Brutal g forces. Tires squealing. Engines revving.
Breathtaking scenery. Beautiful machinery. Unusual camaraderie.
    Three days. 700 miles.
Having more fun than a human being should be allowed to have.

    January 25-27, 2008

    Now open for registration.

    Planning on attending
    kraemer007
    Chris S

    Includes
A visit to Harris Hill Road, a brand new
1.8 mile track near San Marcos

I am sorry Kraemer, I forgot! I will get to it right now.

Actually, the asphalt at Harris Hill Road is complete. We're discussing details of our morning there during the Stampede.

Well, the system does not appear to let me attach pictures, but I will try inserting an image.

Here are a couple of pictures from last year's Stampede:

Also, for teaser pictures from the route of the upcoming Stampede, click here.

        Which Includes these:

Here are two of my favorite shots from the previous year's Stampede:

I hope those wet your appetite.

Just a suggestion: it might help if you stated some basic info like your name, where you live, what kind of car you drive, club affiliation(s) (if any), etc. I suspect prospective participants would feel a lot more comfortable signing up for such a drive if you provided a little background info vs. going on an extended weekend romp w/ "youngturk".

That Escort wagon sure does stick out in a sea of FM Nissans.

Chris, you are right. I apologize to you and others for not introducing myself properly.

My name is John and I live in Cedar Park. My fun car to drive is a '92 Nissan 240SX of which I am the original owner. It's mostly stock. No real car club affiliation but I drive with a lot of different car clubs in the area.

Driving on fun and scenic roads is my greatest passion. We are truly blessed to be within less than half a day's drive of the most challenging and scenic roads in Texas. My desire with the Raging Bull Texas Stampede is to share the joy of driving the best roads with others...and, hopefully, make some new friends along the way.

One of the first things you will hopefully notice is that I have a lot of rules I expect participants to follow. This is to ensure the event is safe for everyone involved. Driving is an inherently dangerous and life-threatening activity. Spirited driving compounds the safety risks and the rules are meant to keep things safe and under control.

I hope one or two of you will consider joining us for the weekend. I've met a few of you during one of Matt's (Chelsea1) recent drives. I love the S2000; I think it's one of the best sports cars ever made.

Thank you for the opportunity to introduce myself.

Yeah, about that Escort wagon. It appeared out of nowhere overnight and invaded our groups's parking area. We considered carrying it away to get it out of our group photo. Then we came up with a less strenuous solution:

It was like a human photoshop.

LOL! I'm a tentative, most likely depending on whether the HHR plans materialize.

Looks like the route is going into my favorite areas of the Hill Country, so it s/b fun.

I just confirmed the details of our visit with HHR: we're on. All that's left is finalizing the program and plans with the Porsche driving instructor.

There are two Corvettes on the list now and possibly three Porsche's. Lets see if we can get more Vettes and Porsche's to squeeze out the G35's!!!!!!!!!

We're more than a month to go before the Stampede and we're already competing!

Well shoot. That's the weekend of the 3M half marathon, so I can't do the whole thing.
