Hi all-
For those of you who don't know already, I volunteer for Austin Boxer Rescue, a local breed specific rescue dedicated to saving and rehoming stray, impounded, and relinquished Boxers. (my first foster dog is the one in my avatar photo!)
Since the economic plunge, the number of incoming dogs is up and monetary donations are down, so on June 13, ABR is holding a silent auction to raise funds for the dogs. There will be a LOT of cool items to choose from the night of the auction event, but we will be accepting advance bids by email for only one set of bid items, which are (4) 2 hour sessions of private instruction by the owners of Harris Hill Road! Each session is 2 hours long and is one on one private instruction on the track and some in-classroom. If you've ever wished that you could learn to hone your skills with some of the best instructors on a deserted track, this is for you!
The retail value of this item is $200, but we will be opening bidding at $150. There are 4 of these available, so if you are interested in more than one 2 hour session, please indicate this in your email to me. For those of you who have never been part of a silent auction, the normal process is that you would add your name to a sheet of paper at the event, with each consecutive bidder outbidding the one before. For the purposes of this auction and to allow for the acceptance of email bids, the bidding for these items will be secret until the night of the auction, so when placing your email bid, bid high and bid often! The four highest bids will win the sessions. The email address to send your bid to is lessbarkmorewag AT gmail DOT com.
If you would like to attend the event, I will provide the information about the event below, as well as a link to our website. We have had some really great food, goods and services donated for this event, so there will be something for everyone (this one is for you, ladies!).
