  • ideas for 2010, this includes idea for the SC region

hey everyone, how about some ideas for 2010
here is what I see that we have.
1)Lone Star at TWS (spring & fall?)
2)Sondra's track days at H2H (I think there was 2 this year)
    3)Lake bash
    4)Lone Star BBQ
    5)Boston Mountain drive

So what else? Give us some ideas

1)How about a drive and ball game. I have thought of this for a while, this year I would like to see it happen. A Saturday drive from San Antonio to Round Rock (or the other way) and a AAA ball game at each end. We will need a Friday night or early Saturday game and then a Sunday day game. People might need to leave work early on Friday to make this work.
    OR
Sea World Saturday and then do some driving with a ball game Sunday in San Antonio or Round Rock

I assume the minor leagues are during the same season as MLB? I'm guessing a summers drive to see the Round Rock Express?

Yes, it would be a summer event, San Antonio also has a AAA ball club the "Missions".

Also why Sea World as a second idea for a day

Boston Mtn is in the Ozarks in Ark.

I think an All-State TX S2k Meet in College Station (non-TWS) would be neat like what ClubRSX does every year. I don't know why it would be easierto pull off for the RSXers than the S2000s of both sites

I think another Regional drive/meet like the Marquez drive a couple of years ago would be nice - or a TX statewide meet like Tom mentioned. Bryan/College Station seems to be as close to the middle as we can get between Austin/Houston/DFW, although one of the many parks at Lake Somerville would be cool too - maybe for a picnic.

I think SoCentral/Austin/LoneStar should've pushed more participation for the Boston Mtns Drive IMHO that JulieU and Jerome set up annually for s2ki Oklahoma, s2ki Ark-La-Tex, s2ki N. Texas, and s2kca DFW.

The Karno Drive should be pretty fun too since we will go way west past Austin

for some reason, I kept thinking this was over already, but it's not (Boston Mtns Tour): https://www.s2kca.com/S2000/showthread.php?t=31967

I'd love to go if I didn't already have plans though

We need to have a kart day, I have been meaning to look into this. I'll see what I can comeup with MSR has a deal for corporate events. As soon as I get some time I'll post what I find.

I'm a bit surprised that we don't have regional drives to the 100 mile loop but that may be because it is best driven on a weekday which makes getting people out there trickier.

I haven't been paying attention but it sounds cool. I'll have to keep it in mind for next time.
