Thanks! I didn't get any response, so we're just heading for Oklahoma in the morning. This will be the first time I've gone to Oklahoma intentionally...I went there for basic training (almost 30 years ago!) and I drove through when I moved here 11 years ago. Wish me luck.

Well - strike two. We were to head to Eskridge Honda in Oklahoma City on Saturday to see a car. Supposedly, they have a 2008 LBP with 5,000 miles and it is Honda Certified (although it is not listed on their website and they have no pictures). All my inquiries were met with "this car is like new, it is not old enough to have any problems!". This was the response to questions about the exterior, questions about the interior, etc. Finally, on Friday night I called the salesman and said, "look - I'm about to drive 6 hours to see this car...please confirm that it has not been smoked in". His response was "how should I know if it has been smoked in, I've never seen inside it". WHAT? As he must have sensed my frustration, he asked "would you like me to find the car, smell inside it, and walk around the car describing what I see?". "Yeah, I said, that might be a good idea".

"Oh man, you are going to love this car. It looks like new. Your really going to love the hood the previous owner put on it. What do they call that stuff? Carbon fiber?" I told him that we were not interested in a car with a carbon fiber hood and his response was "why not, it matches the trunk lid so well?". So much for "like new". I'm now wondering if the car even exists, or if he was hoping for a "bait and switch" once we got there. I find it odd that a car with body mods could be Honda Certified and a viewing of Honda Certified cars in the area does not show this vehicle.

Wow, that REALLY sucks. I looked at that car; holy moly, how did they ever expect not to get an asskicking on the spot if you drove all the way up there, expecting to find a stock car in mint condition, only to find one that has been completely riced out? I'd be posting bad reviews of this dealership online in multiple locations and calling the BBB up there. These kind of car salespeople are the sort that get the lot of them a bad reputation and make people HATE shopping for cars.

Yup. I may go to St. Louis this coming weekend. Claudia is putting a deposit on a car tomorrow to hold it until next Saturday. Hopefully this one will work out better...
