  • 2011 SASCA & SPOKES Autocross Season

    Welcome to the 2011 Autocross Season!

    This first post will be updated regularly now so you don't have to go to the last post.

    Next SASCA Event #11 : November 13, 2011 at Retama Park [ Register Here ]

    Next SPOKES Event #10 : November 6, 2011 at San Antonio Raceway [ Register Here ]

    =================================================

    Registering for Events
    1. Register an account at https://axwaresystems.com/axorm/
    2. Navigate to My Controls > My Garage
    3. Click Insert Car to add your car to your garage, you will use this to register for events (you will have separate cars in your garage for SASCA and SPOKES events). If you have questions on car classing or PAX just send me a PM and I'll help you out. You can always change these later.
    4. Save your cars for SASCA and SPOKES.
    5. Navigate to Events Calendar and find SASCA and SPOKES events in the dropdown. If you have issues registering a car for an event just send me a PM and I'll get you taken care of.

    You pay at the event, not online. You don't have to register online but it makes your check-in at the event go much quicker for you as well as the event coordinators. SASCA/SPOKES members must be registered online to receive the member discount at the event.

    =================================================

    Strict Schedule at the Events ( http://www.sasca.org/forum/index.php/topic,3625.0.html )

    SASCA's first event of the year a couple weekends ago. Very wet + sealed asphalt + old tires = no grip and lots of frustration!

        Sondra and Jack decided to grace us with their presence yesterday. Was good to see you two out there. Here's my fastest run and also pointed the camera backwards for my second fastest run and ended up hitting a few cones.

        You guys missed out on an awesome and fast course. Don't forget to watch it in 720p/1080p...

          Well, I might not be able to go after all to the Feb 20 event. Seems my car needs more done to it than what I thought. I was wondering, though, about something. On the SASCA site somebody posted they were cleaning the far west parking lot at Retama where he says we ran years ago. We ran years ago at the Verizon parking lot off of Lookout Road. So, I would like to find out which parking lot is it supposed to be at. And, if the right parking lot was cleaned up? He says he picked up 40 gals. of debris, which is a lot. I didn't want to ask my question on the SASCA site so as not to offend. Sounds like we may not be sure which parking lot it is.
          Thanks, alex

            No that's definitely a good question to ask. As far as what I have heard from Ricky it's the farthest back lot from I35 on Retama Pkwy road.

              Alex, what does your car need? I didn't think it gets driven that much?

                Jeff keeps changing his mind about what my car needs!

                And, right! I haven't done anything with it! This weekend may change.
                My mission today, should I choose to accept it, is to run out and get brake fluid.
                So, we'll see!

                    Don't worry, there's more chances to go. And, I'm glad they are
                    back at Retama, closer to us.

                      The event at Retama was excellent! I got some help from Vivek co-driving my car so hopefully I can translate that to the next event. I have been forcefully voted to volunteer to create this coming Sunday's course so don't be too harsh if it sucks. >.<

                        Great vids man! I'm jealous that you guys already get to start AutoX season. DC region doesn't start until late March.

                        It's almost here though!

                          Thanks! I'm glad people are enjoying them. Yeah, although I hate the Texas heat I'm grateful that I can autocross 12 months out of the year.

                            The Novice School was excellent for those brand new to the sport and those of us who have been doing it for a couple of years. I learned A LOT of information and others have seen my game stepped up a notch the day afterwards.

                              Sasca Event #3. A very short course but built semi-similar to the Novice School track to reinforce what we learned but it was ran backwards.
