I have done a number of one-day drives with Arizona. I’d be happy to help work on a project to put together a plan. Outside of the Las Vegas area and Reno, there’s not a lot in between in Nevada unless you get into the mountains.

If we did the Ring of Fire tour I would enjoy time to visit the National Parks and Monuments in the area. You can spend several hours rushing through Monument Valley.

I did a Double Devils Hwy trip this year. I can assist with that one and other Arizona drives.

Devils Highway and NM 152 - This is a two day event with different hotels each night
Day One: I have us starting out near Alpine, AZ and traveling to Morenci, AZ on the Devils Highway (US 191 used to be US 666). We follow the twisty roads and make our way to Silver City, NM for lunch. After lunch, we head over to Hillsboro, NM and enjoy the best of the tight and twisty NM 152. After a short break in Hillsboro, we return to Silver City check into our new hotel for the evening and gather for a group dinner.

Day Two: We continue the trip back to Morenci and Alpine. This is not a long travel day. We have the option to spend another night in Alpine, or begin our travels back to our respective homes.

Note: Several details will need to be worked out and finalized but this is a good start.

Grand Canyon and Sedona - This is a two day event with our host hotel located in Sedona, AZ
Day One: We travel through the canyon roads south of Sedona to Tonto Natural Bridge state park. After spending time to explore the park, we will get lunch in Camp Verde. After lunch we travel through Cottonwood and Jerome to enjoy the best section of AZ89A. After the fun twisty roads, we return to Jerome to explore the area for a while. After this final break we return to Sedona for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day Two: Our trip to the Grand Canyon. We travel on AZ89A to Flagstaff and then on to Grand Canyon Village. We will have a couple hours to explore the south rim of the Grand Canyon and will have lunch at one of the national park locations. As a group we will take Desert View Drive east and make several stops to view the scenic overlooks on the way out of the park. This will lead us back to Flagstaff for dinner. After dinner we return to Sedona for one last night as a group.

Kings Canyon National Park and Sequoia National Forest - This is a two day event with different hotels each night
Just a few weeks ago we returned from the first run of this event. It was a great learning experience and we can put our new knowledge to good use for the next event.

Day One: We start the day from California Hot Springs Resort and head straight for the twisty roads. Our first stop will be at the Blackrock Visitor Information Center on Sherman Pass Road. After a short break we return along the same road and go to Johnny McNally's for lunch. After lunch we stay on the canyon roads and stop at the Trail of 100 Giants, Dome Rock, and a few other scenic locations on the way the Three Rivers. We check in at the Comfort Inn & Suites Sequoia Kings Canyon and gather for a group dinner.

                  KingsCanyon1.jpeg

Day Two: We leave Three Rivers and go straight to Crystal Cave. We will need to make reservations for the cave tour and will post that information as we approach the event date. Our next stop is at Sequioa National Park's Tunnel Log. Then on to General Sherman Tree. We will continue to follow the park road to John Muir Lodge where we will have a lunch break and check in for the evening. After getting our rooms we gather together for our afternoon drive to Cedar Grove and Roaring River Falls. When everyone finishes exploring the falls, we return to John Muir Lodge for dinner.

Day Three: Everyone gets to say their goodbyes and we all make our way back home.

Idyllwild - This is a one day event with two nights at the host hotel
We leave out host hotel and head to Mountain Center and travel west on CA74 to enjoy the road and views. Once the road starts to straighten out we use a pull out to take a break and reverse coarse back towards Mountain Center. We stay on CA74 all the way to Palm Desert where we will have our lunch break. After lunch we head back to Banning using the backroads through Mountain Center and Idyllwild. We take a short break in Banning before returning to Idyllwild for dinner.

These trips sound wonderful. Yet coming so close to Yosemite National Park after traveling from afar, I would be open to extending the Sequoia NP trip to visit there.

Yosemite is a trip all on its own. There is just too much to see and do to put all of that into a two-three day event.

The former US666 is now US191, not 192. Just a typo above.
